Complete Working Principle and Operation Process of Emulsion Pump

The working principle of a standard cosmetic emulsion pump is based on atmospheric pressure difference and mechanical reset linkage mechanism. Through manual pressing and automatic spring reset, a negative pressure vacuum environment is formed inside the sealed pump core cavity, which continuously sucks liquid from the packaging bottle and realizes quantitative and uniform discharge. The complete working cycle includes four linked stages: air exhaust, negative pressure liquid absorption, pressurized discharge, and automatic sealing reset.

Stage 1: Pressing and Internal Air Exhaust

When users press the actuator downwards, the external pressure is transmitted to the stem and piston assembly, pushing the piston to slide down along the pump cylinder and compress the internal spring. During the downward movement, the piston opens the reserved discharge hole. The air accumulated in the closed pump core cavity is completely discharged through the discharge channel and nozzle. After 2-3 repeated presses, all air inside the pump body and suction pipe is exhausted, creating a vacuum condition for subsequent liquid absorption.

Stage 2: Spring Reset and Negative Pressure Liquid Absorption

When the external pressing force is released, the compressed spring rebounds rapidly and drives the piston and connecting rod assembly to reset upward. The piston slides up to close the discharge hole instantly, forming a completely sealed vacuum cavity inside the pump core. The expanded cavity generates strong negative pressure, which pushes open the bottom ball valve. With a second press on the actuator, the piston moves downward again to compress the cavity volume. Meanwhile, the internal pressure pushes the liquid in the cavity through the discharge channel, realizing uniform quantitative liquid output.
